I've been watching "Decisiones" on Telemundo to help improve my Spanish and I've heard the phrase "mosquita muerta" used more than once to describe a woman. Can anyone tell me what its figurative meaning is?

A two-face girl. Hacerse la mosquita muerta is to play all innocent and fake. Hypocritical.

My guess is that it means "Pesty like a mosquito that you want to kill"
