What does this mean?
To give reason? Or to give account? But what does giving acount mean?

Dame razón can mean to either give an account of something or bring someone up to day about something or somebody.
Dame razón de María. Hace tiempo que no sé de ella.
Bring me up to date about Maria. It's been ages since I heard from her.

To give an account would be to tell someone what happened. Give me an account of your vacation. Give us an account of the project's progress to date. etc.
