I have seen a few ways to say "with" "con" and "a base de" can you tell me the difference?

To be honest I cannot see many cases where you would use "a base de" to communicate the sense of "with". There are, however, other words that can be used to mean "with".

To be with it - Estar al tanto or al día

To get with it - Ponerse al día

Passengers with tickets - Los pasajeros que tienen billetes

To shiver with cold - Temblar/Tiritar de frío

He's with IBM - Trabaja en IBM

To swim with the current - Nadar a favor de la corriente

A base de - on the basis of, based on, by means of.

con - with
