"El zumo" o "el jugo" ?

Question

Which form when we said "juice" is more correct:

"el zumo" o "el jugo"?

Which one we used in Spain and which one for example in Columbia?

What is the difference?

It may be best to wait for a native speaker to come along, but what I've always heard is that they say "jugo" in Latin America and "zumo" in Spain. I don't know if there is a difference beyond that, but you may want to wait and see what others say.

However, there are many situations where we only use "jugo":

1. Jugo gástrico, pancreático.
2. El jugo de la carne.
3. A una situación que se le saca provecho se dice que se le saca jugo.

Zumo is only used in Spain. Jugo in the rest of the Spanish speaking world.
