Have I used it correctly?
El año que viene espero terminar mis exámenes y voy a estudiar sólo Biología y Química porque quiero ser médico en el futuro.
Next year I hope to finish my exams and I am going to study Biology and Chemistry only, because I want to be a doctor in the future.

Yes. The present can be used in Spanish to express an immediate future action. Good work!
