Class help request - pronoun placement (now with new & improved title)
Hi all,
So, our professor today hinted that it would be in our best interest to know ALL the placement rules for pronouns. This usually means she´s about to hit us with some sort of extra credit, which I´d be stupid not to take advantage of. There was also a hint that one ought to be able to name at least 5.
So far, I can think of
1 - just before the conjugated verb in pretty much any sentence. I know him - Lo conozco.
2 - attached to an infinitive in a multi-verb sentence I want to meet her - Quiero conocerla
3 - attached to a present participle I am eating it - Estoy comiéndolo
4 - in an affirmative command Tell me. Dígamelo!
I thought about in front of a negative command, like ¨¨No lo hagas¨¨ but I think that ends up the same as number one. It´s at best, a pseudo-number-5.
That´s all that I can think of. And though making this list has in itself been good practice for me, I´m hitting a bit of a mental wall conjuring up others.
Anyone have any concrete, well defined additional Number-5 or mores?
Should help me come test time, and god forbid, I might learn something along the way.
Gracias a todos!
Roger

I can see you've already done so in your example, but don't forget when you choose the 'on the end of the infinitive' option for your pronoun - you also add an accent mark when necessary to preserve the original sound.
Los estoy limpiando. or Estoy limpiándolos.
Also, if you're given a sentence with a more than one pronoun don't forget the 'rid' order - reflexive, indirect then direct.
Me lo dijo. She said it to me.
@Kiwi. Thanks for the order reminder
@Susan. Thanks for the accenting reminder. I´d missed it on 1 of the 2. Let´s hope I do better than that tomorrow.
So, can anyone think of any more than those 4 examples of pronoun placement. I know I need at least one more.
thanks roger
