Hi and welcome to the forum.

"Dale" means "Give it to him/her/it."

For example, you have a book and your Dad wants you got give it to your Mom, he says "Dale" or "Dáselo."

Also, here in Guatemala they use "¡Dale! ¡Dale!" to mean "Give it gas!" when the car is stuck in the mud.

Ok, simply put. It's commonly used as a command equivalent to "Do it!". A good example I'm sure you've heard, Pitbull often says something to a female (probably "dance") then says "dale" like "do it girl". Hope that makes it simple to remember.

Dale is also a word used to express:

  • agreement (Ok, dale, nos vemos más tarde)

  • hurry (Dale. Ya no puedo esperarte más)

Estoy de acuerdo. Maestroanton.... muchos lugares... para nombrar un par de lugares... Colombia y Argentina ...dicen más dale en lugar de "vale" - a-YU-dar, Dec 8, 2012

In Mexico we say "dale" if we want that somebody hits somebody or something else..

  1. La mosca se escapa... ¡dale!

I also hear this a lot on la cancha de fútbol. "¡Dale!" Usually when you're telling someone to hit it (shoot it/ pass it)... at least that's what it seems like.

When turning a corner you ask: Is it clear? Can I go? The response here is often: Dale.
