Acabo de cumplir cuarenta años.
Justo acabé de cumplir cuarenta años.
Acabo de entrar en la década de mis cuarenta primaveras... lol
Is this just a sordid search for votes - me I mean. I can't improve on Franco but I'm just trying for another option.
Acabo de llegar a los años cuarenta (y tanto).
"los años cuarenta" is proposed by one of the machine translators but I think I've heard it too.
Of everything mentioned "Acabo de cumplir cuarenta años" is the best option. To use "justo" with "cuarenta y pico / tantos años" doesn´t make sense because this is not an exact amount of years and "justo" as you are using it means "exact."
We normally use "justo" and "justamente" (adjective and adverb) with a measurement of time, weight, etc, so to use it with your example it´s best to say something like "Acabo de cumplir justo cuarenta años" or "Justo hoy cumplí cuarenta años".
Después de nuestras veintes, entramos en las ¡"ta, ta, tas"! Recuerde, cuarenta es media ochenta y solamente la segunda "ta".
