Pencil

Lápiz

Cordobesa is the official corrector of the Spanish sentences and since there are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Please correct your posts according to Cordobesa's suggestions.

  • ¡Usa tus propias palabras!

It is almost always better to use a pencil instead of a pen when doing math.

Pencils cannot only create art, but they can also made into art themselves.

In primary school we had to write our homework with a pencil, while in high school it was quite the opposite. We had to use a pen.

alguien quiere hablar contigo,
alguien quiere tomar tu mano,
alguien quiere verte feliz,
alguien te ama,
alguien admira tu resistencia y tu fuerza,
alguien está pensando en tu risa
y echa de menos tu sonrisa.

I will not write it with a pencil, but using a pen with indelible ink:
You should know that at this moment
someone is thiking of you,
someone is missing you,
someone wants to talk with you,
someone wants to hold your hand,
someone believes that everything that worries you, will be all right,
someone wants to see you happy,
someone loves you,
someone admires your strong will and power,
someone is thinking about your laughter
and missing your smile.

Occasionally, I like to buy these pencils because they smell very good. There are many different scents and I like them all.

"huelen muy bien" :) - Cordobesa, Dec 1, 2012
I wondered about using "bien", but I thought that since the pencils aren't doing the action of smelling, then I could use "buenos" to describe their scent. All of that thinking for nothing. :D Thank you, Cordobesa. Now I understand "oler" a little better. - GraceM, Dec 2, 2012

These days, I don't think children know what a pencil is, because they are born with a mobile phone in their hand.

I don't like using pencils because it allows me to rub out the results of my labours. I have never achieved this without making a mess of the paper, my hands and even my shirt.

It's always better to write at first with pencil and paper; later, you can transfer it to the computer.
