Help translating a song line - cuando la mirada alze

Question

This is a song by Marcela Gandara, a religious pop singer. There is a line I would like to understand the exact subject and verb and the English translation. I added the link. It's about at the :30 mark in the song. Also the next line around :39 is puzzling to me too.

Desde el principio cuando te necesite, (From the beginning when I needed you)

Desde el momento cuando la mirada alze. Does this mean, "from the moment when I lifted my gaze, or when His gaze lifted my eyes? or something else?

Here are the reasons in my answer above....

Desde el momento cuando la mirada alze. Does this mean, "from the moment when I lifted my gaze, or when His gaze lifted my eyes? or something else?

When you lifted my gaze ...because "alzé" is the first person preterit of "alzar."

Desde el día cuando sola me encontraba, From the day I found myself all alone?

Yes, it's yourself .....because if we are using "tu" for Him and if it were He that found you alone it would say "....me encontrabaS."

Cuando tu mirada en mi se fue a poner. When you set your gaze on... who?

It's His gaze and "se fue a poner" means "it began."

Thanks Mariana. That helps. I think part of the problem is that there are no accent marks, but some of it is having a vague notion of what it's saying but I wanted to know the exact meaning.... as far as exact can be had. - katydew, Nov 30, 2012
