Recommended grammar books
Earlier today I posted a commented asking other member of the forum to suggest a good Spanish grammar book. That post was flagged and then later removed because I dared to mention two ENGLISH grammar books which I have in the past found useful. Am I not free to mention books or products that I am using or have used in the past, Can anyone truly believe for one nano-second that I am being paid by either Longman or Oxford University Press to come onto a SPANISH Language Learning Forum to market ENGLISH Grammar Books.
What If I were to ask a question such as this,
Today I was in KFC eating a delicious chicken sandwich and I thought what are the Spanish words for herbs and spices, can someone please tell me?
Would that be construed as promotional activity.OK Would I have to rephrase it?
Today I was in KFC(OTHER CHICKEN SHOPS ARE AVAILABLE) eating a delicious chicken sandwich and I thought what are the Spanish words for herbs and spices, can someone please tell me?
So I'll re-post my question, can anyone recommend a good basic Spanish grammar book with plenty of practice exercises, and if your looking for a good English grammar book I can recommend a few.

"Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish" by Margarita Madrigal
McGraw Hill has a whole series called practice makes perfect, that are essentially workbooks and practice exercizes along with some grammar lessons in individual areas (pronouns and prepositions, verbs, vocabulary etc etc) They are excellent for basic learning, and reinforcement. 8-1/2 x 11 things that are cheap and you can write in. Love them.
My class also uses a book called "English Grammar for Students of Spanish"
It's a bit of a misnomer, and is a sort of comparative grammar. May be below your level, but worth looking at.
I don't have any advanced pure grammar books, and so can't offer much more.
good luck Roger
I think the presentation might have been a little misunderstood, but it's exactly that, a misunderstanding. Let's keep smiles going and learn on. Thanks for sharing your feedback. See my response to your other post here.
