To politely ask

What is the (or what are the) grammatically correct and polite way(s) to ask for something in spanish? For example, in a restaurant, If I am ordering something that I know is on the menu, I know I could simply say "quiero el pollo en mole rojo, por favor." I have also heard "quiero pedir ........" used. I suppose if I am asking for something that I do not know is available like a table in a nonsmoking area, I might use the subjunctive quiera or quieras. Comments?

You can say:

¿Por favor me trae el pollo...?

¿Por favor me da el pollo?

¿Me puede traer/dar el pollo?

Voy a tomar/comer el pollo...
