Music en Español

Hi All,

I would like to get some music in Spanish running on my internet radio, but don't really know where to start. I know "Spanish music" is very different from American stuff, but was hoping to find some that isn't so foreign that it is difficult to listen to (from a perspective of what one likes to listen to ordinarily).

I usually listen to music that was around before the 1980s. I like a lot of stuff from the '40s through the '70s: folk, pop (especially '50s/'60s), "British Invasion" stuff, bluegrass, big band, surfer music, whatever. That's sort of a brief overview. I also play guitar, so anything with a good guitar part in the background is always a plus (nothing super heavy, 'though--definitely not a metal fan).

That said, does anybody know anything that might maybe fit into my musical tastes that I could listen to? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

~FJ

This is a website on music where you will find mainly music in Spanish. One advantage about that website is that all the song music is very sorted and classified by style and you may also execute searches by the singers' name.

I have linked a famous Spaniard singer who sings mostly balads and who abuses of the Spanish guitar -who I particularly like-, but you will find many other singers and rythms there.

Para empezar, "all the song music is very sorted and classified by style" You'll need to take "song" out of that sentence - #2 We usually say "one advantage to" #3 Diría: you may also execute seraches (by) using the singers name. - QFour, Nov 26, 2012
"and who abuses of the Spanish guitar" **and who abuses the Spanish guitar** - QFour, Nov 26, 2012
You could probably reword that towards the end to be more direct, but great stuff Car. - QFour, Nov 26, 2012

Get on Pandora or better yet, last.fm. Surf around til you find the first spanish group you like. It will be difficult at first, but once you find that first one or two, the site will suggest similar, and you can get a few from each of those, and it will expand geometrically. I've found a ton of groups I like that way. Last.fm is great for this sort of explanation.

Hi! A good place to start would be Youtube - type in "música en español" or canciones en español", and you'll get loads of songs of all different styles. And if you like any of them, many of these songs are available on iTunes or emusic. Hope that helps.
