Challenging es un adjetivo ?.

No entiendo muy bien la manera de diferenciar nombres de adjetivos adverbios etc...

Hay algún truco para transformar los nombres en adjetivos .??.?.

Adjectives modify nouns.

Adverbs modify verbs.

This game is challenging.

Here the word "challenging modifies the noun "game" = adjective

He drives slowly.

Here the word "drive" (a verb) is modified by "slowly" = adverb

Adjectives describe nouns (people, places, animals, things, and ideas). Adverbs describe adjective and verbs.

Challenging means "difficult", and describes a noun: Pokémon is challenging (Pokémon es difícil).

Quickly is derived from the adjective quick, which means "fast" and describes a verb. I drive quickly (Manejo rapidamente).

A helpful hint is that adverbs usually end in "-ly" because they are derived from adjective.
