¿Qué película ves anoche?

If speaking to a native speaker, would this be a casual way of asking "What movie did you watch last night?"?

would "viste" be used instead? - cgallo33, Nov 14, 2012
Of cousre, you're talking a single past event. - diagonx, Nov 15, 2012

"viste" in "Qué película viste anoche" sounds ok to me. I'm not a native speaker but I've been speaking it for quite a while.

You are right on the money. Anoche requires the preterite. So viste is the correct verb conjugation and tense. - francobollo, Nov 15, 2012

What's the significance of "casual". This is simply the way to ask a question apart from any dressing up you may want to give it.

For example, do you have the time to spare to say "hagame el favor de indicarme cual fue la pelicula que viste anoche" or "tengame la bondad de indicarme ................" or other similar extralocutions?

Te faltó decir "¿Podría tener la gentileza de contarme qué película vio anoche?" Eso sonaría más formal. lol. - -cae-, Nov 15, 2012
Y otros. Me cansé de ésto. - geofc, Nov 15, 2012

If you mean causal speech, I'd say: ¿qué peli te viste anoche?

Fully agreed with the proviso that "peli" may not be right where cgallo is living. - geofc, Nov 15, 2012
