To get paid = cobrar (un sueldo, salario). You can also use the verb pagarse.

Cobrar also means to collect, but not in this case.

Examples:

Hoy me pagaron (I got paid today)

Hoy cobré (I got paid today)

How would i say? Hoy pagan. - _kib, Nov 15, 2012
Hoy me pagan or hoy cobro mi sueldo - francobollo, Nov 15, 2012
Hi Franco - not sure why you don't accept "cobrar" as meaning "collect". "Today I collect my pay" sounds pretty much like "hoy cobro mi sueldo". - geofc, Nov 15, 2012
You bring up a good point. I've never seen myself as someone collecting my pay. I get direct deposit.. lol - francobollo, Nov 15, 2012

El gobierno me paga mucho dinero cada dos semanas.

Que son tan generosos conmigo, me pagan regularmente.

Fortunately this is true , but is it correct ?

Hmmmm....never thought of this one. You may be right with "soy pagado" = I'm paid.

Let's wait to see what others have to say.

Me pagaron = They paid me

Me pagó = He/she/it paid me

There's actually some future tense into it: 'if I do this job i'll get paid a $100'. So maybe 'seré pagado'? - S1r_Wakka, Nov 14, 2012
Not so Wakka. Spanish "pagado" refers to the salary (or whatever) that got/gets/will get paid not to you the recipient. - geofc, Nov 15, 2012
@wakka, si lo hago, me pagarán. - annierats, Nov 15, 2012

"to get paid" is a phrasal verb and therefore there is not a direct translation.

Yes, me han pagado y después me han robado. Set phrases, to my mind. - annierats, Nov 15, 2012
