Ask and Answer a Question Using Audio

15

I think it could be fun and also useful to start a question and answer thread using audio. The guidelines are simple. Ask aloud a question in both English and Spanish. The next person will answer your question in English and Spanish, and then they'll create a question in both languages for the next person to answer. Please use Vocaroo to record yourself speaking, and after you click the save option under the recording box, please post on this thread the link that Vocaroo gives you.

Anyone is welcome to participate -- beginning learners, those who are advanced, and everyone in between. I'm definitely a beginner when it comes to speaking Spanish. I have a lot of trouble convincing myself to speak live to a person, so for now, I think recording my voice is a good stepping stone. Maybe this will be useful for someone else, too. If you would like, feel free to give each other (and me) corrections, but I really want to focus on just having the courage to speak aloud.

Kiwi Girl's recent pronunciation threads have helped inspire this idea, and I hope I'm not stepping on her toes. I just would like to see if anyone is interested in participating in an activity that requires forming sentences and speaking them.

Here's the first question.

Before you participate, please click "Newest" to answer the most recent question.

This is the same for all English many words that start with an S - stadium , study, stand etc. - ian-hill, Nov 13, 2012
It is because most Spanish words start with an E - estadio, estudio etc. - ian-hill, Nov 13, 2012
It is a real challenge for me Ian. I will try to improve, thanks for the observation. :) - -cae-, Nov 13, 2012

Sadly only 3 others. Katya. But thank you , and I loved your voice , not as north american as i imagined. - ray76, Nov 17, 2012
Only 3 others... ha. ;o) I think my accent got mixed a bit from moving around. My family says my accent changes when I cross borders. ;o) Not sure what , "not as North American as I thought" means. ;o) Your voice suits your text personality. - katydew, Nov 17, 2012

Well done Katy, perhaps 'si tuviera' for your question - just like English says - 'If you had' not 'if you have' ;) - Kiwi-Girl, Nov 13, 2012
Feel free to re-record what I said in Spanish so I can compare where I need to improve. Just edit it in at the bottom and write "hablante version" in the link description. - katydew, Nov 13, 2012

My answer to Annierats question.

Ian and I were working on our responses about the same time so please answer Ian's question.

Yes and no. Yes, information is more easily found, but sometimes I wonder what has happened to the simple things, such as taking care of the earth and each other.
