Since you speak another romance language you already have an advantage over others who don't ! If your serious about learning Spanish I'm sure you can find a friend or acquaintance to speak and help tutor you. Also when you are learning look for patterns, learn them, and remember them! When your alone or in your head speak Spanglish than work your way up to making full sentences in Spanish.When your doing this try not to convert the sentence back into English but hear yourself say it or read a sentence and try to visualize it and understand it in your head

Any language has its difficulties, but Caymane is right - as long as it doesn't feel like a chore, it won't be that difficult. I find that listening to Spanish-language songs on Youtube have been a great help to me personally, but it depends what you enjoy doing. As for pronunciation, Spanish is pretty simple - compared to, say, French or even English (and I'm a native speaker of the latter), pronouncing sounds in Spanish is much easier - and personally, I think it sounds a lot nicer as well.
If you don't allow yourself to get hung up on some of the differences, I think you will find that Spanish is a very consistent and well structured language with very phoenetic spelling and pronunciation. For English speakers, the verb conjugations tend to be the most troubling thing, but the forms are very consistent.

Yes, Spanish is hard. Like anything, it gets easier as time goes by, as long as you don't try to run before you can walk. If you cannot fully understand a book marked fácil, make sure you understand it fully before you go onto the next step. Listen to the news to get a feel for the language but don't expect to understand everything. Learn to use the little that you know to great effect. And most important of all, stop listening to and believing people who tell you that they went to South America and picked up the language on their short travels. Nonesense. They are just trying to impress you.
As long as you love to do something, all its difficulties will be sweet for you. But if you do something reluctantly or obligatorily, even the simplest matters would seem very hard to learn. But generally (in my opinion), Spanish is easy to learn, especially if you know English well. I'm not a native English speaker, but I learned English in university and I could learn Spanish easily by self-study (with all its sweet difficulties). Wish you luck.
Spanish can be challenging but also rewarding. Most things seem hard until you learn them.
This might come across as being very obvious and all, but personally I've found there's nothing better when learning than to do stuff you enjoy - not forcing yourself to study when your not enjoying it. I made this mistake when starting out and it really saps your enthusiasm. :(
Use books, films, etc on subjects you enjoy. :D
Ehh. All I can really tell you is that it get easier.
Sometimes, it's hard. (Tenses, pronouns... ) But I like it! And I think, it will be easy after learning all.
