¿Te gusta la chaqueta?

¿Le gusta la chaqueta?

What's the difference? Why "le"?

Te is a second person pronoun for the informal.

Le can refer to he, she, or you in the formal (usted)

¿Te gusta la chaqueta? Do you like the jacket? (informal)

¿A usted, le gusta la chaqueta? Do you like the jacket? (formal)

¿A él, le gusta la chaqueta? Does he like the jacket?

¿A ella, le gusta la chaqueta? Does she like the jacket?

Do you like / (does it please you)

vs.

Does she/him like it (does it please him or her)

Careful with the word "chaqueta" because it can be misinterpreted in Mexico and other places as a vulgar word.

Ask people what they use for the word "jacket" and use that while in that country/region.
