the verb "to kayak"

Question

hello, I need the verb "to kayak" for a spanish project I am doing. I have checked other websites and I am not able to find a translation. I am wondering if you know what it is, or if there even is a translation. If not, is there a similar verb I could use?

In Spanish "kayak" is used only as a noun and not a verb. We say "embarcar a kayak."

Geofc, I didn´t understand completely the context. "Embarcar" more precisely would be for starting the process of "to kayak" and then after that "hacer kayak" is just as MikJ stated - 005faa61, Nov 5, 2012

I would go with Julian's answer, I just add another suggestion, as used by one of my various teachers , who is North American and very keen on these sports:

hacer el piragüismo

It doesn't exist, we say "vamos a hacer kayak", "hicimos kayak", "haremos kayak" we use the verb "hacer" to say "to kayak".

Annierats is right on the money... Un kayak es una piragua o una especie de canoa. Así que piragüismo o hacer/practicar piragua o canoa son correctos.

Todavia no existe el verbo que buscas. Se supone que algun día existiría algo conveniente. Quizas podrías usar "kayaquear". "Kayakar" no suena ni "kayaquar'. Prefiero "kayaquear' sobre "kayakear" porque la letra "K" no es muy espanol sino más de afuera.
