Meaning of the word "corito"?

Meaning of the word "corito"?

I am having trouble with the title of this Spanish Christian song. The title of the song is "Este Corito Es". The first lines of the song are:

"Este corito es para alabar a Dios y si tu le alabas tambien sientes lo mismo que yo Y yo siento que el espíritu santo se esta derramando en mi corazon y que una nube del cielo se esta vislumbrando en la casa de Dios" (sorry I couldn't find the exact punctuation).

I'm having trouble with the word "corito". It seems to mean naked, but I can't see where that would fit into this context. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I can't believe I didn't think of the diminutive! I couldn't understand why a religious song would sing about being naked! LOL.

Annie is right of course....."little chorus" (or possibly "dear chorus")

You probably weren´t able to find "corito" in the dictionary because words with their diminutives ("ito," etc) are not listed. You would have to look for the root spelling of "coro."

Here is a link to a game about diminutives we played several months ago. There is a lesson attached and some good illustrations from other SD members. It will make things clear in the future for words like coro and corito & how they fit together. Just click on this link:

Annierats is right--and I'll add: corito is the diminutive of coro (choir).
