In Spanish class we are going to discussing a movie in which la personaje principal gives birth to a daughter. In English we use that phrase "gives birth to" or "has a". What phrase in Spanish is usually used to say that she had a child?

In spanish it is common the phrase "dio a luz a" or "tuvo" Example "María dio a luz a una niña" or "María tuvo un bebe"
