Reputation on SD / Puntos de reputación en SD
SD has been designed to measure all participants' progress learning a new language. It also serves to motivate members to continue participating as they rank higher as users on the website. Whoever asks a question should be voted up in compensation for their effort. Those who also take the time to respond to a posting deserve the same treatment.
So, please remember to vote as much as possible on the site.
Thank you!

With all due respect, I think one of the issues that stops people from voting is that there is a limit on the number of votes that you can give away in a 24 hour period. Any additional votes which are over your quota, mean nothing with respect to points for the person you are voting for. It's definitely necessary to use your votes wisely. In my opinion this is good, it stops people from voting just to receive points. The problem as I see it, is that you don't know how many really great posts there are going to be in the run of a day, and if you have used up all your voting power...well, the best post may not win. It is a bit of a challenge to decide whether or not to vote for something early on. At least this is the way I understand the SD system. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
