I have to fill in a social security form and it has the question "Es funcionario de clases pasivas?" I can't work out what it means. Any ideas?

A funcionario de clase pasiva is a government employee who has gone into retirement and is receiving a pension. This is a term used in Spanish legislation (Spain).

Well, you can call call it a retired government worker if you really need an equivalent in English. - francobollo, Oct 29, 2012
