Translation in English of last line of a Spanish letter of recommendation
I am only a beginner in Spanish but a Spanish friend wants me to translate in English this last part of a letter of recommendation he wants to take with him to Great Britain. Can someone please help?
Y para que asi conste y sirva a los efectos cpportunos, se expide el presente certificado.

I have never seen a letter of recommendation written like this:
Y para que asi conste y sirva a los efectos oportunos, se expide el presente certificado.
This is more like the issuing of a legal document:
"And let it be known and serve the effects in a timely manner, the present certificate is expidited."
"Los efectos" ... "the effects" can mean a variety of things depending on the content.
I don´t know if this proper for English legal terminology, so yes, Mariana should know.
Business writing is very different in English than in Spanish. If you were to translate this phrase word for word, it would sound verbose in English. If this a legal translation; however, then you would need something like:
The following certificate is hereby issued to whom it may concern and for the intended purposes.
Perhaps our friend Mariana could provide a more legally accurate English version.
I stay away from legal translations as they are not my forté.
