Hola! I was wondering how you say who plays/acts as a character in a movie. For example I would like to say: He starts to work with William Somerset (played by Morgan Freeman).

This is what I have in Spanish but I am not sure if it is the best way to say it: Empieza trabajar con William Somerset (el papel de Morgan Freeman).

I appreciate any help! Gracias.

I believe the verb you're looking for is "interpreter" (to play, interpret a part). So your sentence would be:

Empieza a trabajar con William Somerset (interpretado por Moran Freeman).

You may also say "...desempeñado por Morgan Freeman" Interpretado por is also good.

Pumpkin gave you the best answer possible.

You can also say:

Empieza a trabajar con William Somerset (cuyo papel lo hace/interpreta Morgan Freeman)
