Hi and welcome to the forum.
How do I use cognates in a sentence in Spanish ?
Spanish cognates often have a very similar meaning in English and are very close in spelling.
For example....
Professional (English) / Profesional (Spanish)
Doctor (English) / Doctor (Spanish)
Medicine (English) / Medicina (Spanish)
A "false" cognate is a Spanish word that sounds similar to English, but has a very different meaning.
For example....
- Embarazada (Spanish for pregnant) / Embarrassed (not pregnant!)
