Practice Spanish Group (via Skype)
I want to practice my Spanish through Skype. I am intermediate level and live in Spain currently. I want to speak to native speakers (preferably), but anyone can join. Anyone interested? I know there used to be a Skype group here before in 2010. Since I don't know if they are still around, I want to make a new one.
Let me know if anyone is interested.

I used to set up Skype Chat groups and they were quite fun!
However, during the summer months many times nobody showed up or even let me know that they weren't coming. Therefore, it was quite disappointing, and I stopped doing the Chats.
If we had enough interest, say 8 people, I would be willing to put a group together of Intermediate people and create a theme for each meeting.
Well If you need help, I would be glad to take part. I'm a Spanish native speaker, so you can help me with my english!
Hello everybody!
I am a native speaker from Spain and my boyfriend and I are interested in improving our English. So we are looking for peope who want to do a language swap through Skype.
If you want to perfect your Spanish, just contact me. We can help you!
Thanks!
As long as my schedule permits, I would love to participate!
Como mi horaria lo permite, me encantaría participar!
Is there a way we can read in Spanish from spanishdict.com while talking via skype...? I don't know enough spanish to fully converse, but want to hear the conversations while reading it. (if that makes any sense)
I would like to join
Mariana, I'm interested!
I remember one time we played a game, that went as follows:
- The organizer messaged each participant a list of ten (or so) words
- Each person got the same number of words in their list, but each list was different
- Someone volunteered to go first. The player had 60 seconds (or so) to describe the words in their list, one at a time. Everyone else had to guess the word.
- If the player felt they could not get anyone to guess the correct answer, they could say "Pass" and go to the next word. Once passed, the player could NOT return to the word.
- The player earned one point for every word the guessers guessed.
- After everyone had a turn being the player (giving out clues), the one with the most points was the winner.
This game takes a little "lead time" for the organizer, so they have time to make up lists of words that are fairly equally matched in difficulty.
It was by far the most participation I've seen in the Skype chats. Usually chats have a few people who want to practice speaking, and others who are shy. The game gives the shy ones a chance to speak. Of course, folks could listen in and not play, if they chose, but it was so lively and fun playing! No attention was paid to correct grammar; you just tried to get as many clues out there as possible so that the others could guess your word. It's not good for correcting verb tenses, gender agreement, etc. but it's awesome for getting folks to actually use their voices.
I am a native spanish speaker. Would you like to talk with me? I am interested in learning english (I have an intermediate level now) and I would teach spanish in exchange. My skype is fonsoss@live.com

Thank you guys (once again) for your responses and enthusiasms. I've been busy at my new teaching work this past week. I'm excited to finally be able to reply to you all.
Simple starting rules: Let's make the Skype meeting (by default) AUDIO only. NO video unless there is mutual consent. I assume most will value privacy a lot. NO cuss words in English/ Spanish please. Please consider the different cultures of other people. Your culture might accommodate such language, but not vice-versa.
Starting Date: Saturday, November 3, 2012 Time: 10AM Madrid, Spain ; Time Zone CEST (The time is made only for the sake of setting time for now. Changes can be done) Where: Skype meeting Duration: 1-1 1/2 hour conversational activities Topics: Ice breaker, Introduction, 30-45 min English conversation & 30-45 Spanish conversation
Since no way of private messaging here, then each has to put their Skype user here. Please don't repeat your/ others' usernames when replying, I personally don't want my username to show up in Google search.
Edit: I just figured out private messaging here in spanishdict *ashamed. Like I said earlier, one person needs to be in charge of the "virtual" logistics of adding usernames. Keep in mind we are all strangers to one another at the moment. OK, 7 more days to go!! Woohoo!!
Thanks,
Cool, thanks for responding guys. Following a few good things that I got from the conversation, I think I want the following before we start: 1) Get more people (at least reaching 8-10) 2) Think of past games (not necessarily a language game) you organized yourself/ done with you in charge. Try to turn them into a language learning game. 3) Once enough people, we'll just exchange Skype usernames privately by emailing the whole group.
Is group email possible here in spanishdict.com?
Looking forward to it. Regards,
I would love to take part in this if it does come to existence.
Me gustaría mucho tomar parte si llega a existencia.
You may want to refer http://preply.com/en/english-by-skype for skype english practice with the help of some good native speaker!
I would like to exchange English lessons for Spanish lessons. I am an online English teacher and I am in need of a Spanish teacher (Latin American) who can help me become more fluent in Spanish.
This is my skypeid pradhips. How often does this group meet?
@saiwa : Please let me know if you are interested in trying some chat sessions.
