delicious food...aiii que rico
I thought that 'que rico' and 'que riquísimo' meant - mmm that food is delicious. Somebody pointed out to me today that as it's refering to 'comida' ie. feminine - it should therefore be 'que rica' or 'que riquísima'. I'm sure they're wrong! But in principle, they're correct. Over to you muchachos...

Yes that is correct to say.
Cómo está la comida? Está bien rica, gracias.
Cómo esta? Está bien rico, gracias. Me da(s) la receta?
You can say:
Qué rico pescado, qué rico helado, qué rico pastel (all masculine words).
or
Qué rica hamburguesa, qué rica ensalada, qué rica pasta (all femenine words).
The plurals are formed as follows:
Qué ricos pescados, qué ricos helados, etc.
Qué ricas hamburguesas, qué ricas ensaladas, etc.
Ok , the answer is that you generally say 'que rico' because you are refering to the question in 'general'...... I have a really good answer from a native spanish speaker:
About your doubt, you can say both ¡que rico! and ¡que rica! in depending of situation. for example:
I am eating some food very good, in general, have a dinner very good and I can say ¡ que rico! ( like ¡que rico esta todo!, en general, sin genero) but I can say ¡que rica esta la comida! here is femenino, and I use the word "comida" that is femenino, then I must use ¡que rica!
But I repeat, if you say about the food in general, you can say ¡que rico!
If I ask you ¿Que tal esta la comida? you must answer, la comida esta rica, la comida esta riquisima. But if I ask you in general ¿que tal esta ? (without say exactly you can say ¡Muy rico! Todo esta muy rico. Riquísimo.
"que rica"/"que riquísima" sounds right to me since it's referring to a feminine noun - but I'm sure a native speaker will prove us both wrong!
If I ask you ¿Qué tal está la comida? you must answer, "La comida está rica, la comida esta riquísima." But if I ask you in general ¿Qué tal está ? (without say exactly you can say "¡Muy rico! Todo está muy rico. Riquísimo."
I agree!
Comida = Está rica.
Todo = Está rico.
