Hi everyone... I´d like to ask if is correct to say...

Gracias por ir a la fiesta

...thanks for going to the party!

because the action has already ocurred. or if it is

...thanks for go to the party!

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for go to the party! = Never used, incorrect.

another example..

Thanks for coming to the party!= correct

Thanks for come to the party!= Never used, incorrect

Sure you can say that.....

Gracias por ir a la fiesta.

i think it should be: gracias por venir a la fiesta

as that'd mean: thanks for coming to the party

This can be used in either present or past tense.

If you want to emphasize past tense, you can say "Thanks for having gone to the party." "Gracias por haber ido a la fiesta."
