If I am saying that I graduated from school 10 years ago in Spanish should I use the preterite or imperfect tense?

Hi. Good question.

It was a one time event on that day (I graduated, I got married, I woke up, I drove to the store, etc.), so you'd go with the preterit....

Hace diez años me gradué....
