Can I get a translation on this sentence please? Spanish to English

My name is Charlie, a fellow english speaker as well. I have a favour to ask you (if it is not too much trouble I hope) You see i am on a social network site called Hi5 and i had a girl write me the following sentence in spanish:
hola solo paso a saludarte y espero conocerte mejor.
I normally go to the spanish dictionary to translate, but i didn't get the whole sentence, so i was wondering if someone could translate it for me please.

I'm not completely sure but the basics of her messages translates to: "Hi I am just passing by to greet you and hope to know you better". I hoped i helped. =]
