el cadáver ( kah-dah'-ver )

noun ( corpse, body )

How to post a picture

Francobollo is the official corrector for the Spanish sentences. Please correct your posts according to his suggestions. There are many native English speakers here, most of us can offer great suggestions to the English sentences. I will do my best to go through them all, too. Use today's Word of the Day in your own Spanish sentence (and include the English translation as well). Try to use the word in a completely new way and vote on the sentences you like best. The winner will be chosen based upon the correct use of the word as well as the number of votes.

Guidelines:

Write sentences at least 5 words long, but don't write a paragraph either. Write your Spanish sentence, but include the English translation as well. Make the corrections suggested by other users and moderators in the comments section (try not to use personal pronouns unless absolutely necessary). Use your own words! (Don't use a translator, copy from a book, use song lyrics, etc.) Have fun experimenting with Spanish.

Examples:

1. Nunca encontraron el cadáver de Roberto Clemente después de que su avión se estrelló de camino a Nicaragua.

They never found Roberto Clemente's body after his plane crashed on the way to Nicaragua.

2. El cadáver de la momia estaba maldito, quienquiera que lo tocara se moría de una enfermad espantosa.

The mummy's corpse was cursed, whoever touched it died of a horrible disease.

"enfermedad", no "enfermad" ¿Y no debe ser "se muriera" en vez de "se moría? - DonBigoteDeLaLancha, Sep 28, 2012
moría is correct... whoever touched it would die ,.. no subjunctive needed - francobollo, Sep 28, 2012
Morirá ?A case for the future? - annierats, Sep 28, 2012
Annie, there's room for moría, moriría, muere. But not so sure for morirá - francobollo, Sep 28, 2012
"¿Y no debe ser "se muriera" en vez de "se moría?" Sí, el subjuntivo se requiere. - 005faa61, Oct 1, 2012
Sentence #1, subjunctive is also required for "estrellarse." And "...... en ruta a Nicaragua" - 005faa61, Oct 1, 2012

Hoy día en la UE, después de los problemas con la enfermedad de Encefalopatía Espongiforme Bovina o crisis de las “vacas locas”, tenemos muchas dificultades con la eliminación de los cadáveres de animales y despojos de animales , por considerarse material específico de riesgo, de tal modo que este tipo de residuos no pueda ser destinado ni al consumo humano, ni al consumo animal.

Nowadays, In the EU, after the problems with Bovine Spongiform disease, or Mad Cow Disease, we have many problems with the disposal of fallen stock and animal by-products, which must be eliminated in such a way that residues must not be used for human, nor animal consumption, because they are considered high risk material.
