"Calque" plus 10 characters in length, sigh
Calque Loan translation.
How do you pronounce this? Spanish Dict says "Cal" but I'm still not sure. I'm tempted to say something like "Kalk" or even kalkay"

I would go with 'kalk' too - not kalkay because I think it's of French origin instead of Spanish.
LagartijaVerde, creo que no voya utilizar ésta palabra en mi vida pero si tuviera que hacerlo:
kalke sirve. Palabra francesa, pronunciación española, significa palabra prestada de otra lengua.
Por ejample: en sueco tenemos la palabra ' ansikte' que significa 'cara' pero también, hoy día utilizamos ' fejs' que es una palabra calque de inglés ' face' , pero come se escribe en sueco.
According to an English dictionary site, it is pronounced kalk as Kiwi said. That is, if you are trying to use the English word meaning, "a loan translation" or "a word or phrase borrowed from another language by literal, word-for-word... or root-for-root translation."
Calque - In Spanish rom the verb calcar (to trace) conjugated either in the imperative (usted form) or the subjuctive (that he/she trace).
It is pronounced cal-kay.
A calque loan; also comes from the French verb to trace. It shoud be pronounced /?kælk/) or kalk.
