'SDL' is a brand name for a software technology used in language translation and management services. It is used by many other softwares and internet websites for language translation purposes. One of the three Spanish translators on SpanishDict.com also uses this technology. The brand is owned by a British company called 'SDL PLC' where P.L.C. means public limited company.

There is no official full form of SDL as declared by the company. Both the company and the brand simply go by the name of SDL in all its business communications.
