If a fish eats a fish, is the fish the fish eats pescado or pez? ¿Cual es corrrecto: " el pez come pez" o "el pez come pescado"?

Pez is when the fish is still alive and in the water.
Pescado is a caught fish that you eat.
If both fish are in the water and one eats another you'd still have to say: Un pez se come a otro pez.
