Acronyms in Spanish

I noticed in a previous post that Mariana used R A E, whereas everyone else used RAE. I know it's probably a minor detail, but are acronyms spaced out like this in Spanish. I was trying to think of an instance in English, but everything I can think of is squished together, like FEMA. Which brings up another question, when referring to the acronym, should I pronounce each letter "re-ah-e"? I assume so, since they are spaced. Which means maybe it's more of just initials like U.S., rather than an acronym. Any insight would be appreciated.

Acronyms in Spanish are written just like in English. SpanishDict hates all caps, so that's why you'll see people spacing them out here. If the letters that form the acronym in Spanish can be read out easily (like RAE, then you can say rah-ay). Otherwise, you'd have to say each letter individually.
