What does "que guayabo me da" mean to you?

Hola,

Does anyone know what "que guayabo" means??

My understanding was that "guayabo" can mean guava tree or hangover, but neither would seem appropriate in this sentence:

"Que guayabo me da ver a la gente perdiendo el tiempo en un smartphone".

Can anyone help? Gracias!

"It pains me to see all these people with their eyes glued to their smartphones." That is the best I could come up with as well. It is not an exact translation because I think this conveys the message better. I will be interested to see what others come up with.
