Todavía no The Present Perfect

I am trying to figure out what I am missing in my homework. The directions say: Rewrite the sentences using the present perfect to say that these things have not yet (todavía no) been done.

Model: Su prima no va al gimnasio. Su prima todavía no ha ido al gimnasio.

1.Pedro y Natalia no nos dan las gracias. Pedro Y Natalia _________ no _______ han dado las gracias. 2.Los estudiantes no contestan la pregunta. Los estudiantes ___________no han contestado la pregunta. 3.Mi amigo Pablo no hace ejercicio. Mi amigo pablo __________ no ha hecho ejercicio. 4.Esas chicas no levantan pesas. Esas chicas ____________ no han levantado pesas 5.Tú no estás a dieta. Tú _______________ no has estado a dieta 6.Rosa y yo no sufrimos muchas presiones. Rosa y yo ____________ no hemos sufrido muchas presiones

(Where there is a space - It is telling me that I am missing a word) Any guidance would help.

I added the blanks for you through editing to make it easier to see what you need to fill in. - katydew, Sep 11, 2012

Model: Su prima no va al gimnasio. Su prima todavía no ha ido al gimnasio.

Su prima no va al gimnasio. = Your cousin (feminine) doesn't go to the gym.

Su prima todavía no ha ido al gimnasio. = Your cousin (f) has (ha) not (no) yet (todavía) gone (ido) to the gym. (or: Your cousin hasn't gone to the gym yet).

The "todavía no" means not yet. You are changing the sentence from what your cousin does, to make it say what she has not yet done.

Yes, most of the blanks are telling you where to put the todavía to add the 'yet' part to your new sentence.

Some have blanks because they are missing other parts of speech. Try one and let us help you see if you've got the idea.

No that is not correct. You need to put todavía en one of the blanks. - gabacholoco, Sep 11, 2012
Tu no todavía has estado a dieta. ´no todavía' go together usually to make "not yet": estás (present form) and has estado (present perfect) are 2 verb forms needed. No estás goes together & todavía no has estado go together to make sense. - katydew, Sep 11, 2012
typo - 'goes together'..... - katydew, Sep 11, 2012
Now I get it. Duhhh on my part. Thank you for the lesson. I got 100% - tlctvl, Sep 11, 2012
