Double take?

Double take?

(reacción tardía) Is this the correct way to express the idea of seeing something, and then looking back at what you are doing,, and then realizing what you saw and whipping your head around for a double take?

If so... could you use this in an illustrated sentence so that i could get the idea. Mil gracias!

Well, a double take is not the slow reaction (acción retardada, tardía o letargada). Double take means dar un segundo vistazo or mirar/ver por segunda vez/de nuevo.

Example:

Soy tan despistado y sufro de acción retardada. Si no me hubieras dicho que la chica en el restaurante era Julia Roberts jamás la habría mirado de nuevo.

I am so careless and suffer from delayed reaction. If you had not told me the girl at the restaurant was Julia Roberts, I would have never given her a second look.
