'Te echo de menos'

a friend said to me 'te echo de menos', that means 'i miss you' right ? but how should i answer? 'yo también'?

I agree that "Yo también" would be understood, but it doesn´t sound natural. It makes me think of "I miss me too."

"Y yo a ti" and "También yo a ti" are better options.

To use "Yo también," both people would have to miss the same thing, ie: "Extraño los años ochenta" (I miss the 1980s). "Yo también" (I too).

Other options also include: "También yo a ti" or "También te echo de menos,"

te hecho de menos… -or- te extraño. I miss you.

Response can be….”Y a tí también....” and you too

  • or – “ igualmente” The same

  • or – a simple “ Yo también” Me too – or- I also
