"Clase de yoga"

I just corrected a friend's sentence, ha ha. Is my response correct!!??

Friend: Vamos a vernos Martes, Septiebre 11 a yoga clase. (Is the grammar correct?)

Answer: Two things jump out at me about this sentence: first, in Spanish you don't have to capitalize very much, so days of the week and months are lower case. Second, in Latin-based languages mostly you use "de" when describing kinds of things, like a class: a la clase de yoga.

(Minor point: flip the number and month so the number comes first.)

Care to try?

Jmarie,

Your observations are right on the money. I'd say: "Nos vemos el martes, 11 de septiembre en la clase de yoga".

Gracias Francobello! So you say 'en clase.' Good to know. Al parque, en clase ... like in English, prepositions can be different. - Jmarie, Sep 4, 2012
