"visitiamos" vs "visitamos"
If "estudiar" conjugates to "estudiamos", why wouldn't "visitar" conjugate to "visitiamos" instead of "visitamos"? Also, is there a rule for when a word will have an accent mark over a vowel, because it seems pretty random to me, & I can't find anything about it in my textbook.

Thank you!!!! My husband speaks "Spanglish" & was absolutely no help with those questions! Also, my online Spanish professor had posted about how to get the accent marks, but she neglected to specify which numbers on the keyboard to use, so it didn't work!
Hi Ariana,
Great question: Both verbs are regular and their conjugations are straightforward.
Visitar --> VisitAmos (there is no "i" before the "ar" ending of the verb, hence the conjugated Visitamos, which keeps the verb stem intact)
Estudiar --> EstudIAmos ...There is an "i" before the "ar" ending of the verb and you have to keep the stem unchanged.
I hope this helps!
There are definite rules for putting accents on words. I will have a separate post for that.
