BLeS - La - SyL #7

I have been collecting aphorisms, proverbs, lines from songs, quotes, .... for as long as I can remember, but the other day my imaginary book of texts got attacked by a vicious bunny who tried to eat some of the words.
After a short struggle I managed to get all syllables back, but I need your help to put them back into the sentences.

Here are the rescued syllables:

AL - CIA - CIEN - CIO - CIO - CON - COR - DA - DE - DIEN - FEC - FUN - IM - IN - LE - LEN - LEN - MEN - PEN - PER - PRO - SI - SI - SÍA - SO - TAD - TE - TE - TE - TO

and here are the incomplete sentences:

(1) Buen ------- vale más que mala disputa. (José Selgas Carrasco (1822-82, escritor y periodista español))
(2) La -------- vale por mil testigos. (Marco Fabio Quintiliano (39?-95?, escritor retórico y pedagogo hispanorromano))
(3) Los caminos de la ------- son siempre rectos. (Raimundo Lulio (1232?-1315, teólogo y poeta español y uno de los creadores del idioma catalán))
(4) La ---------- es la principal muestra de cultura. (Baltasar Gracián (1601-58, escritor barroco español))
(5) Todo lo que no es natural es -------. (Napoleón Bonaparte (1769-1821, general y emperador francés))
(6) ------- siempre, aislado nunca. (Emilio Visconti-Venosta (1829-1914, político liberal italiano))
(7) Una palabra hiere más -------- que una espada. (Robert Burton (1577-1640, escritor y clérigo inglés))
(8) El dolor ----------- es el más funesto. (Jean Baptiste Racine (1639-1699, french dramatist))

Please, please, please, complete these sentences with the missing words, composed of the rescued syllables.

Mind you:
- I have put them in alphabetic order.
- Each syllable is used only once.
- All words are familiar to a person with a reasonable Spanish vocabulary.
- The number of ---- is by no means an indication of the length of the missing word.

To show you what I want you to do, I solved the first one myself:
(1) Buen SI-LEN-CIO vale más que mala disputa. (José Selgas Carrasco (1822-82, escritor y periodista español))

Remaining (rescued) syllables:

AL - CIA - CIEN - CIO - CON - COR - DA - DE - DIEN - FEC - FUN - IM - IN - LE - LEN - MEN - PEN - PER - PRO - SI - SÍA - SO - TAD - TE - TE - TE - TO

Everybody is invited to play (apart from Mr Google and friends), but we do have some rules:
- Pick 1 sentence to solve and then give somebody else an opportunity to answer OR (if nobody else has posted) wait at least 6 hours before posting your next entry.
That way more people can participate,
- but, of course, nobody is stopping you from solving ALL sentences. Just don't post them all at once, please!
- Try to find your solution by combining the syllables into words that could fit into your chosen sentence, instead of using Mr Google or friends.

Good luck!
