Diesel is diesel. The only simple one. Gasolina is gasoline. Aceite is oil. Any and every kind of oil from baby oil to cooking oil to motor oil. Grasa is grease. Again any kind of grease from animal fat to lubricating grease for cars and machinery. The only exception that I know (but I am sure that there are others) is that pure pork fat is called manteca.

Good points. However, there are regional variations: grasa in Mexico can also mean shoe polish and manteca is Argentina means butter and not shortening like in the rest of the Spanish speaking countries. - francobollo, Aug 30, 2012
Agreed. Almost everything is regional. - gringojrf, Aug 30, 2012

Aceite can also mean motor oil. Aceite del motor. Gasolina, nafta y combustible are commonly used to mean gasoline (or petrol in the UK).

"Gasolina" means petrol. "Aceite" means oil, as in cooking oil.

So "el aceite de oliva" = olive oil.
