Going to Spain next week :)
Hi all, I haven't posted here in awhile but next Monday I'm off to Spain! For three weeks I'll be in Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, and Barcelona. I'm very excited. Feel free to ask me anything or recommend anything. I bought Alhambra tickets already.

Drink café con leche and eat jamón Iberico every day and you will be fine!

Yes, please send fotos as you go.
¡Tienes mucha suerte! Me encantaría ir, también!
¡Diviértete!!
You M U S T see all of Gaudi's stuff in Barcelona - La Sagrada Familia - the park and his apartment building.
Nice! I really hope you have something to do on the plane. How long is your flight supposed to be, how many layovers?
You should check out maybe doing one of the 'caminos' they have, if you're into seeing the scenery on foot/bike. Reading about them made me want to do one..or at least half of one!

I will go to Spain someday.
¡Tienes mucha suerte!
You're going exactly where we went ten years ago. In Barcelona, la Manzana de la Discordia has other interesting art nouveau buildings. There are buildings from Roman times elsewhere, and Las Ramblas is amazing. I suggest a city bus tour: ours offered headphones which allowed us to listen to a translation of the narration into Spanish (and maybe English). I couldn't figure out Catalán at all. We got lost in La Sagrada Familia. It closed down and they turned off the lights. Fortunately, we found our way out using my little flashlight. Sevilla was our favorite. The Santa Fe neighborhood and the Alcázar were especially fascinating. We took the boat tour on the Guadalquivir: you pass under two wonderful bridges, which are especially photogenic at night. You'll also see a model of Magellan's ship at the site of the 1992 World's Fair. We were there off season, but the area may be open at this time of year. Have fun!!
Ten en cuenta que en España la gente se llevanta tarde y no se acuesta nunca.
Remeber that the Spanish get up late and that they never go to bed.
The tip about Dali and Figueres is worth following up,
A very nice place. Look up once inside and the hanging sacks of coal are ...surreal
the Rainy Taxi and Mae West as a sofa are there too, and you can see his house with the egg on the roof etc. Look at the building from the outside, especially upwards and you'll spot some good jokes.
There are some nice restaurants as well. If you went in the morning you could have a lesurely menu del dia at about 2:30 pm having discovered the place. it's quite small and a great place to walk around especially along the coastal edge.
You can get a train from Barcelona and the trip is interesting as you pass through various places on the Costa Brava. It would be a great day out
Por supuesto Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, y Barcelona son lugares muy divertidos.
Podés tener muchos buenos momentos en España.
I agree with Ian-I want to go to Barcelona to see Gaudi's work. There is a home and museum of Salvador Dali about 2 hours (according to Rick Stieves travel series) outside of Barcelona too.
Here's a Park Güell link Güell Barcelona
Have fun
