Hola, y bienvenido al foro abiert de Español en SpanishDict.com. Hello, and welcome to the open forum at SpanishDict.com

As you already know, English has 7 tenses and Spanish has 13.

Today we will examine the preterite and imperfect Spanish tenses.

I will select the verb that we will use.

I will tell you its verb meaning…in general.

I will also give you the verbs conjugations.

You will need to select one of the conjugations and use it in a sentence.

Example : “ Pagar”- ‘to pay’ Pagaron la cuenta (They paid the bill)

Please answer in Spanish and English. Please use ‘clip art” if you have it.

And please…enjoy yourself.

Como ya lo sabes, el inglés tiene 7 tiempos y español tiene 13.

Hoy examinaremos los tiempos pretérito e imperfecto de español.

Seleccionaré el verbo que utilizaremos.

Les diré la significación del verbo…por lo general.

También les daré las conjugaciones del verbo.

Tendrán que seleccionar una de las conjugaciones y utilizarla en una frase.

Por ejemplo : “to Pay” – ‘ Pagar ‘ They paid the bill (Pagaron la cuenta))

Por favor conteste en español y en inglés. Por favor use ‘el arte de clip” si usted lo tiene. Y por favor … ¡ diviértanse!

El verbo será ; “to pay ” ‘ Pagar ‘

The verb will be ; “ Pagar ” ‘ to pay ‘

El preterito –

pagué, pagaste, pagó, pagamos, pagaron

El empleado trabajaba más horas por últimos 6 meses, por eso su jefe le pagaba más dinero cada mes.

The employee was working more hours last 6 months, that is why his boss payed him every month much money.

Corrected, thanks to Viejito:

Durante los ùltimos 6 meses el empleado trabajaba demasiada horas. Es por eso que su jefe le pagaba mucho dinero cada mes.

During the last 6 months the employee worked too many hours. That is why his boss paid him a lot of money each month.

But, the last part of your sentence does need to be grammatically modified. Nice, worth the vote. ☺ - viejito, Aug 28, 2012
Antes…is optional. Antes…chnges the meaning of “pagaba” from “paid” to ..I would/use to pay. “Before, I would/use to pay taxable income for several years, pero ahora no tengo trabajo. (spanglish..LoL ) - viejito, Aug 28, 2012

I wish Maria would return the money to me. I paid my bills last week and I don't have enough money left for the month.
