Si no me equivoco querías decir :
How are the family? happy ? sad?
Si es así la traduccion más acertada debería ser :
¿Cómo está la familia? ¿Contenta? ¿Triste?

Another way to ask about a specific family is "su familia".
Mi familia está contenta.
¿A dónde acampar? ¿Qué país?
Where are you camping? What country?
