difference between por o para

what is the difference between por and para?

example: Vamos a dar un paseo _______ el parque nuevo

both could work???

Vamos a dar un paseo POR el parque nuevo

En este enunciado la palabra PARA no tendría sentido, si escribimos la palabra PARA sería para decir la razón por la cual vamos a ir a dar el paseo en el parque. por ejemplo:

Vamos a dar un paseo POR el parque nuevo PARA relajarnos.
