I dont understand my teachers

My Spanish 2 teacher keeps giving me homework and right now I'm working on an activity from my textbook and the instructions say "En grupos pequeños, hagan presentationes informales y formales. Usen estas expresiones." It give a little hint that says " Practice introductions." Do I make a chart or do I write it out? I'm so overly confused!

Presentaciones. - Eddy, Aug 15, 2012
Plus the fact, never be afraid to ask the teacher to qualify exactly what she wants. - Eddy, Aug 15, 2012

Hi and welcome to the forum. The other answers are great.

The translation of you instructions is....

"En grupos pequeños, hagan presentationes informales y formales. Usen estas expresiones."

In small groups create formal and informal presentations. Use these expressions.

Generally "informal" and "formal" are referring to verb tenses. What verbs has your class been studying; especially in regards to introductions, which I take means greetings?

One video lesson we have is 1.1 - Greetings and Introductions. It's about 10 minutes in length and might have some ideas for you to use.

Keep things simple until your confusion melts away.

¿Cómo estás? -- informal

¿Cómo está? -- formal

It sounds like your teacher is asking you to simply practice both informal and formal introductions with a small group. "Usen estas expresiones" means use these expressions, so maybe you're just supposed to write it out.

my teacher is the same kind as well, she is just like that keeps giving homework and doesn't explain what to do. What book do you study from? for this question I think you should just write it out

Hola Scottishigh! Muchas gracias por tu participación. Remember your capitals at the beginning of a sentence and periods at the end. This is a big help for our learners of English! Great answer! - bandit51jd, Aug 15, 2012
